The Building Getting Bigger!
April 2008 after a long wait we now have planning permission for our planned factory extension. Completion is expected in July.
Building Modernisation
February 2005 saw the completion of our building modernisation. 5700sq metres of new insulation and steel over cladding was fitted to the exterior of the building to improve energy efficiency. This project was supported by The Carbon Trust to the tune of £100k.
Thunderbay Two Refit
At the same time as the building modernisation programme, we opened new space on site as Thunderbay Two was upgraded, with 24,000 sq feet of floor shot blasted and re coated, all of the electrics were stripped out and new energy efficient lighting installed. This has created significant additional high quality space for us in which to undertake your projects.
British Paragliding Team Sponsorship Deal
July 2005 Lighthouse became the official sponsor of the British Paragliding Team. In August the Bleriot Cup Team won the annual competition against the French Bleriot squad in the Alpes Maritime.
In 2007 British pilot Bruce Goldsmith won the Paragliding World Championships (the Grand Prix of paragliding) competing over several competition rounds in various locations including Australia.
Machine Shop Trebles In Size
Following the major investments in refurbishing and refitting the Nottingham factory in the early Spring, we have been able to treble the size of the machine shop in order to rearrange work flow and to create the new space required for our continued capital investment programme on the machinery side.
ACID Shines Light On Lighthouse Intellectual Property
With the support of ACID (anti copying in design) lawyers seven successful actions have been completed in the last 12 months against copycat design infringers.
