Mentos Counter Display Unit
Challenge:
The Mentos Team at PVM were about to kick off a new ‘Say hello’ campaign which featured limited edition Mentos, with emoticon faces printed on the candy. The brief was to develop a 2 tier Counter Display Unit (CDU) using the established brand campaign style, that would be displayed in major multiples and convince stores to hold the products. The customer provided initial thoughts via a sketch with a deadline for a printed prototype to be delivered in seven working days for them to present at a conference to the field team.
Solution:
We were able to translate the customer’s rough concept sketch into a reality; a two-tier unit coming out from a phone shape, with the emoticon candy around the edges and a person making one of the faces. The timeline was extremely tight but we created a 3D render for initial client approval, and then produced a printed prototype which was delivered within 7 working days of receiving the brief.
Result:
The client was very happy with the prototype which was well received at the conference and, following client approval, production went ahead to create 300 units for the campaign roll out.
